Jan Needham

solar_lawn_ornament.jpgJan earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse majoring in Sales and Marketing in 1998.  After graduation she went to work for a major food manufacturer.  She worked in the Madison, WI area until she found the love of her life and soon married.  Her husband brought her back to her hometown of La Crosse.   Jan took early retirement to become a full time house wife.  She manages to keep very busy with book keeping for her husband’s business and parenting two small dogs named Zack and Zoie when she’s not crafting.

Jan started making floral arrangements for herself about twenty years ago.   She would start with drying her own flowers.   She was lucky enough then to have a neighbor who worked in a floral shop and he would bring her rose bouquets several times a week for her projects. Soon her apartment wall was filled with lines of flowers drying.  She would arrange the dried flowers into beautiful bouquets, wreaths, or swags and then offer them to her family and friends for gifts.  Jan still does many different kinds of flower arrangements that she sells at local craft shows.

Today in Jan’s spare time you will find her creating her own recipes or coming up with a clever idea to build and sell.  She recreated the bath towel into a product she calls ‘Perfect Twist Hair Towels’.  She uses a nice thick towel and sews it into a shape that snug’s tightly to your head and stays put with the help of an elastic loop.  There are many beautiful colors of the ‘Perfect Twist Hair Towel’ to choose from.  She offers a Perfect Twist Hair and Bath Towel in a combo pack called the “Bath Bundle” and has designed both in a Gift Basket as well. You can choose from several baskets with some containing bath necessities such as the pouf’s and wonderful scented lotions and mists, and nail care products.  The Perfect Twist Hair towels are offered separately as well.

Jan also designs ‘Solar Lawn Ornaments’.  She uses all pre-treated lumber; timber landscaping or concrete block to make sure it will withstand the weather.  To also help preserve the life of the solar lawn ornament, all of the wood is stained in a beautiful golden oak color. Most all of her Solar Lawn Ornaments designs contain a figurine made of resin.  Some of the most popular themes are dogs, cats, squirrels, and bunnies.  Most customers request for their solar lawn ornament the same breed of dog that they have and if Jan can find it she will build it.  Other themes Jan has created are deer, bears, horses, guardian angels, pigs, frogs, birds, lighthouses, and seashells.

Jan loves the outdoors.  Her favorite season is summer and she spends all the time she can on the river with family, friends and of course her two Shih-Tzu’s, Zoie and Zack.  Another great love of Jan’s is playing cards and games. She is always looking for new ones to learn and teach others.

You can see several of Jan’s items on our website and if you have a special request just let us know.

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.  They simply are the ones that care the most.  Unknown
