Knitting and Crocheting can produce similar results, but they are different types of work. Crocheting derives from a French word meaning hook and consists of pulling loops of yarn through other loops. Knitting is derived from the word knot, which is believed to originate form the Dutch verb knutten, but it is similar to the Old English cnyttan, to knot. Knitting consists of using two knitting needles where you pull a new loop through an existing loop.
