E-Reader Covers
E-reader covers are produced to help protect your electronic books or e-book and they can also add a touch of your style in the color that you choose. E-reader covers are a long way from the paper covers that we used when we were in school to help keep our class books a little cleaner and nicer for the next student. I suppose when you consider how our books have changed, it only makes sense that the e-reader covers wouldn't be the same as the paper book cover either. Electronic books, also known as e-books, ebooks or digital books are the electronic version of a printed book, but they can also exist without any printed version. Doing some research on the history of books I found that the Chinese were the first people to begin printing books or literature using blocks of wood and rice paper and although they were not considered books, the Japanese have the oldest known examples of printing dating between 718 and 764 AD. Needless to say thanks to progress in technology, we have certainly come along way since then and that's now why we have a need for the e-reader covers.
To fill in the gap slightly between 718AD and the e-reader covers of today I'll jump back a few years. Since the 1930's, audiobooks, which are recording of a text being read, have been available in some schools and public libraries. In 1931 Congress even established the talking-book program to help blind adults who couldn't read print, but the medium didn't really attract book retailers until the 1980's. While this medium was gaining in popularity, the E-book was already getting it's start. In 1971 the US Declaration of Independence was being typed into a computer by Michael S. Hart and by doing so he created the first e-book. As of August 2009 less than 40 years after the 1st e-book was created there were over 2 million free books available for downloads. With all those books available to download a variety of e-books were also developed such as the Kindle, Sony, Nook and BeBook Neo just to name a few.
Whether you have a Kindle, Sony, Nook or one of the other forms of e-books out there, it's a good idea to purchase a e-reader cover to help protect your investment. Remember, there are over 2 million books currently free to download and that's going to take a lot time to read even a part of them, so you need to protect your e-book. We offer some of the best quality e-reader covers available. They are machine quilted, nicely padded and have a hand stitched binding for a nice finish. There are 3 pockets, one in the front that holds a recharging cord, an interior pocket to hold a small pad of paper and there is also a pen holder on the back so you don't scratch your e-book. I have a sample of some of our styles below, to see more, just click on this link and it will take you directly to the e-reader covers that we offer.
